Besides his specialist training (CCT) in Psychiatry, in 2014 he was awarded Distinction in MSc Clinical Neuropsychiatry by University of Birmingham, UK.
During his career, Dr Bhandari has regularly received complements from patients and carers for his ability to empathise with them, understand their concerns and develop structured, evidence-based, treatment plans to manage their illness.
Dr. Bhandari has been involved in several research projects in the last 10 years. He was Chief Investigator for a Phase II trial in UK and Principal Investigator for two Phase III trials till 2022. Also, he was Medical Education Tutor and Education Supervisor for medical trainees until 2 years ago. His BBC interview pertaining to his research work featured on BBC news in 2019.
For his leadership and management skills, Dr Bhandari was awarded “Innovation prize” by the South-West division of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2012. In 2018 and again in 2022, he was awarded Clinical Excellence Awards in recognition of his contribution towards delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.
Dr. Bhandari currently works as a Consultant Neuro-Psychiatrist and treats patients suffering from Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, and neurocognitive disorders, such as Dementia, Delirium, and Parkinson’s psychosis.
